Italy Raise Sales Tax To 21%

Italy hiked the main VAT (Value Added Tax) rate to 21 percent from 20 percent. The Italian consumer morale hit its lowest in at least 16 years and real disposable income of Italian families is lower now than it was 20 years ago.


Mussolini Captured & Executed

Mussolini was captured near Lake Como (45.8159,9.080) by Italian partisans when he attempted to escape Switzerland. He was summary executed by firing squad immediately after he was captured. His body was then taken to public square, Piazzale Loreto (45.486,9.217), in Milan where his body reviled and spat upon by his countrymen. It was then hosted up and hung upside down at a petrol station for public viewing and to provide confirmation of his death.

Mussolini banned all political parties and curtailed personal liberties which made him an official dictator.


March On Rome

The March on Rome (Marcia su Roma) was a march by National Fascist Party (Partito Nazionale Fascista, or PNF) which took place from 22 to 29 October 1922. The "march" was a coup mounted by the fascists.
